Work Safe Health and Safety Week is fast approaching and runs from 18 to 29 October. Elected Health and Safety Reps (HSR’s) are eligible to attend Work Safe approved training at the Victorian Trades Hall Council as part of the event.
HSR reps are a vital part of our workplaces having been trained to both recognise, and help address, health and safety concerns. Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, HSR’s are entitled to take part in any course or training relating to occupational health and safety that is approved or conducted by WorkSafe.
Keep Tuesday 27 October in mind as this is the day you will need to get off to attend training.
HSR’s will need to give their employer 14 days notice and be able to attend a full day of training. You will be presented with a certificate at the end of the day.
