- free to claim with no excess
- inclusive of public liability, products liability, and legal benefits
- underwritten through Lloyd’s specialty insurance arrangements
- compliant with relevant professional registration requirements
Your Disclosure Obligations
When joining VAHPA, members confirm they are not aware of any existing claims or circumstances that may reasonably give rise to a claim.
Members also have a duty to disclose relevant information that may affect the insurer’s assessment of risk.
If an incident occurs that may result in a claim, members should notify VAHPA as soon as possible. VAHPA will then manage notification to the insurer on the member’s behalf.
Isn’t My Employer’s Insurance Enough?
While many employers maintain indemnity insurance, employer policies do not necessarily protect individual Allied Health Professionals in all circumstances.
For example, an employer or its insurer may seek to recover costs from an employee if they allege the practitioner acted outside the normal scope of their duties.
Individual Professional Indemnity Insurance provides an important additional layer of protection and support.
