Melbourne’s annual Midsumma Pride March recognises and celebrates Victoria’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (GLBTI) community, remembering the road that has been travelled while fighting for equality.
This year marked the 21st birthday for the Pride March; the theme for the march this year was “Marriage Equality”
There was a great community turn-out and VAHPA was honoured to march this year with the Victorian Trades Hall Council along with other union including: Australian Nursing & Midwifery Federation (ANMF), Australian Education Union (AEU), National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), National Union of Workers (NUW), Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU), Australian Services Union (ASU) and United Voice (UV).
VAHPA recognises the important contribution that GLBTI people make to our community and supports them in their fight for equality, inclusion and the right to marry.
