Real pay cut at Healthe Care thwarted … for now

If you work at HealtheCare sites it is urgently important you get involved in the union to protect your pay and conditions.  A recent attempt by Healthe Care to push through an Enterprise Agreement (EA) with cuts in real terms to pay and conditions was thwarted on the basis there had been inadequate notice.

The EA proposed by Healthe Care contained only a 2.5% pay rise and would have seen a real pay cut for staff as well as the loss of protections for fixed term employment and the loss of half the existing compassionate/bereavement leave. Healthe Care has worksites at The Valley Private Hospital, La Trobe Private Hospital, South Eastern Private Hospital and Brunswick Private Hospital.
