Allied Health Professionals are another step closer to taking industrial action. Yesterday we received confirmation of dates for the protected action ballot from the AEC.

  • Monday 16 May – VAHPA sends membership list to AEC
  • Monday 23 May – Roll of voters closes
  • Tuesday 24 May – Ballot opens
  • Tuesday 14 June – Ballot closes
  • Wednesday 15 June – Ballot counted and results declared

If you are not already a VAHPA member, we urge you to join up by 11AM on Monday 16 May to ensure you are on the roll of voters.

There is scope to amend the roll of voters during the period 16 to 23 May however if you miss this window of opportunity you will not be eligible to vote.

“The time for demure unionism is over.  We have worked tirelessly for months now to get this campaign up and running.  Now, it’s time for the membership to do their bit,” exclaimed VAHPA Secretary Craig McGregor.

“Every member needs to take responsibility for rebuilding their union—we don’t have another one, this is it. And if we want our jobs to be good jobs we need a strong, organised and well-respected union.”

“Ask your colleagues to join us in this struggle, in the interests of all patients and all Victorian allied health professionals; get active and ask your colleagues to join today,” concluded McGregor.
