The VHPA has been successful in obtaining the equivalent of approximately 20 weeks pay for a Health Professional employed at a public sector medical centre who was incorrectly classified.
The member in question had been incorrectly classified by the employer for a number of years, resulting in a significant underpayment over that time.
The VHPA raised a dispute with the employer, forcing the employer to discuss the matter.
During these discussions the employer agreed to a settlement that resulted in the Health Professional receiving a back-payment equivalent to about 20 weeks pay.
