It is with sadness that VAHPA announces the resignation of our long-term President Cheryl O’Connor. Cheryl, a Medical Imaging Technologist, has been a stalwart VAHPA member and an active representative for our union at the local, state, and national levels.
Cheryl joined the Branch Committee of Management in late 2012 and within a matter of months took on the role of President. During that time the membership of VAHPA has more than doubled and the staffing contingent has increased threefold.
“Cheryl has been a great supporter of Allied Health over many years. We will miss her energy and enthusiasm. On a personal note, I have very much enjoyed working with Cheryl and consider her to be a comrade and a close friend,” noted VAHPA Secretary Craig McGregor.
Replacing Cheryl is Physiotherapist and committed unionist Marni Jackson. Marni has been Vice President during the current term of office, bringing a great deal of experience to the position and is strongly supported by the Branch Committee.
