VAHPA Members at Lifeblood have resumed protected industrial action in pursuit of an improved Enterprise Agreement.
This campaign has had more twists and turns than most.
After over a year of bargaining, Lifeblood paused the negotiations in November of 2022 to resolve an audit with the Fair Work Ombudsman.
However, when bargaining resumed in 2023, Lifeblood changed the goalposts yet again.
Lifeblood informed VAHPA that it now wanted to pursue a “Southwest Australia” agreement which would include Allied Health Professionals from Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia (not just Victoria and Tasmania).
Worse is intended. With this proposed change to the scope of the agreement comes a significant reduction in entitlements, which could result in some employees potentially losing thousands of dollars per year.
VAHPA Members at Lifeblood are resolute in their desire for their own agreement and don’t want to go backwards under Lifeblood’s new proposal. Members have fought hard for decent wages and conditions and continue to stand together throughout the bargaining process.
Can you help? VAHPA Members are always happy to have support at their industrial actions; if you fancy joining us for an hour or so at a future action, please email us here and we’ll let you know when an action is scheduled.
