In a push to increase the strength and reach of the union, your Branch Committee of Management has taken the decision to make student membership free.
This decision has been warmly received. At the recent La Trobe University Orientation week, attended collectively by the three Victorian branches of the Health Services Union, HACSU, MSAV and VAHPA, we signed up more student members than we have over the past 12 months!
“We’ve made it as easy as possible for all Allied Health Professionals to join and support their union. Students now join free and early career members receive huge discounts on their membership. This is vital to ensuring that we are strong, unified and effective in the difficult years to come,” said VAHPA Secretary Craig McGregor.
Student membership does not provide Professional Indemnity Insurance but does grant access to all union communications/publications, events and industrial advice.
Please ensure your students are aware of VAHPA and the important role we play in the industrial and professional space.
