Besides a series of recent Government changes to super, many of our members will have noticed that HealthSuper is no more.
For the last two years since its merger with First State Super, HealthSuper retained a separate name and identity. But from 1 July the fund will simply be known as First State Super.
While it is disappointing to see the loss of this strong and well-known ‘brand’ in the health sector, we hope members will benefit from being part of a considerably larger super fund that it has become.
How First State Super continues to meet the needs of its members is certainly something the VHPA will be keeping an eye on in the future, so please contact us if you have any concerns.
The VHPA is committed to making sure you get the superannuation you need to have a decent retirement.
We can help by making sure your employer is paying the right amount of super and by working to negotiate strong and effective superannuation clauses in Enterprise Agreements.
We also have close links with health industry funds such as HESTA and First State Super and make sure they are in touch with the needs of their Health Professional members and deliver good returns.
If you have any queries about super, particularly if you think you’re not getting paid the right amount, please contact the VHPA Member Assist helpline – 1300 322 917.
