The VAHPA organising team has been out in force over recent weeks meeting with Allied Health Professionals working in Community Health (CHC). The goal… an Enterprise Agreement designed specifically to meet the needs of AHPs in the community sector.
These workplace meetings follow hot on the heels of a mass meeting of Community Health members at which a resolution endorsing the campaign plan was put and adopted.
As all VAHPA members will be aware, campaigns are only effective where the membership is engaged, active and committed. Things are looking positive on this front. Members are busily mapping their workplaces, electing Delegates and giving serious thought to their Logs of Claim. In fact, a number of Centres have already commenced work on formalising their Logs.
If you haven’t got your bargaining-head down and your bargaining-bum up now is the time to get serious. For more information call VAHPA on 1300 322 917.
“The last round of bargaining in Community Health saw members make significant improvement in their wages and conditions, but there remains a lot of work to do,” said VAHPA Secretary Craig McGregor.
“We do lots of agreements, but the energy around this one is obvious; it looks like it is going to be something special,” concluded McGregor.
