The Fair Work Commission has set Tuesday 3 December as the date for hearing the dispute regarding the pay rise delay for Health Professionals in the public sector.

As reported in recent HP Updates, the VHPA believes that public hospitals are failing to abide by the requirement in the Enterprise Agreement to provide a pay rise from 1 October.

The delay in passing on the increase means many members who work in public hospitals are missing out on up to a fortnight of the pay increase — that is, up to around $33.75.

“After receiving a less than positive response from the VHIA, we have escalated the issue with the Fair Work Commission,” said Craig McGregor, VHPA Secretary.

“The recent pay rise was only 1.25% and Health Professionals deserve every cent of this considering the contribution they make.”
