Shock and anger over the budget has translated into community action across Australia – starting off with the March in May rallies. Another rally to protest the changes to Medicare will be staged today outside the State Library at 5.30pm.

The Bust the Budget Campaign launched by the Victorian Trades Hall Council last week has burst onto social media, with thousands of views of the “Best Budget Ever” video and a growing number of #bustthebudget tweets. The campaign will culminate in a rally on 12 June outside Trades Hall. Get online and share the video here and Download the poster here.

Silence on the budget will allow the government to think there is tacit agreement that the poorest and most vulnerable in our society deserve a second-class healthcare system. So it’s time to take action – get along to the Medicare rally today, to the Bust the Budget Rally on the 12th June, and get active on social media to stop these budget measures passing through the Senate.
