Anaesthetic Tech job structure under threat at RCH

Home / News / Anaesthetic Tech job structure under threat at RCH

VHPA Anaesthetic Technologist Members have been engaged in a process around a change in the way operating theatres are staffed at the RCH.

“The Change Impact Statement supplied by the RCH spoke of expanded roles for all RCH Theatre staff,” said Lead Organiser, Linda Jenkin.

“Our Members have embraced this opportunity,” continued Jenkin. “However, they remain more than a little concerned about management plans and are keen to ensure that they are treated with the respect they deserve.”

The VHPA fully support the position taken by the techs and are likewise of the opinion that their fears are based in fact.

“We will pursue these and other issues directly with the hospital and, if needed, in the appropriate external forum,” concluded Jenkin.
