2016 has been another big year for VAHPA. In fact, it has been our most successful year to date.
During the course of the year we successfully negotiated a raft of new enterprise agreements, our membership has grown significantly, our financial position has improved and staffing levels in the VAHPA office have increased (so that we can better do the work we need to do). Suffice to say we are looking forward to taking a short break.
The VAHPA office will be closed from 4 pm today, Tuesday 20 December, and will re-open on Tuesday 4 January. We will, of course, have an emergency organiser on call to deal with any urgent matters that may arise and we will also be keeping an eye on our email over the period. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every Allied Health Professional who stood shoulder to shoulder with your VAHPA comrades this year to ensure good outcomes for workers and patients right across the state. We would also like to wish all members a safe and happy ‘break’ and we look forward to working with you all again in what is set to be a huge 2017.
