The Final draft of the new Allied Health Public Sector Enterprise Agreement is now available to all members. The document has been uploaded to your personal Member Portal.

Some 700 allied health professionals voted unanimously in support of the package as presented to the membership at the mass meetings of 04 August and 30 June. Members now have the opportunity to examine the final draft of the document. This gives you a chance to make an informed opinion prior to voting to endorse or reject the agreement—we expect the formal voting process to commence some time in September however this is largely at the discretion of your employer and the Fair Work Commission.

Under the relevant legislation your employer must provide you with a copy of the agreement and grant you time to properly consider it. For further details see the following link:

Given that the new agreement is longer and more comprehensive than any of its previous incarnations and in an effort to help members better understand the document, VAHPA Organisers will be rolling out a series of paid workplace meetings across the state over the coming few weeks. You are encouraged to get along to a meeting, have your say and ask for clarity on any concerns or questions you might have.

If you haven’t been contacted about a meeting, feel free to contact us at info@vahpa.asn.au

Please encourage all of your colleagues to attend; this is a great chance to let them know that VAHPA is responsible for forging your career structures and on that basis alone must be supported. It is also a great opportunity to help build the strength of the union and sign up non-members.

Remember, your union is only as effective as you are active!
