Workplace Advice

VAHPA provides a range of member benefits for Victoria’s Allied Health Professionals. Benefits include workplace advice, collective bargaining, professional indemnity, advocacy, free legal advice, plus other benefits and discounts.

Support when you need it

One of the main values of VAHPA membership is the personal support and representation members receive when it’s needed.

We know it’s hard to tell your employer you are not happy with something they are doing or that you feel your rights are not being respected. It can be especially difficult when you have to deal with someone who represents your employer such as a human resource manager or a lawyer, who is trained and has access to more information than you as an individual.

That’s why VAHPA has a team of skilled professionals, backed up by a network of workplace representatives (delegates), who provide members with support and representation. Our experienced and qualified staff can help you win a positive outcome on a broad range of workplace issues, including:

  • Underpayment of wages and entitlements
  • Grade and classifications disputes
  • Unfair dismissals
  • Harassment and discrimination
  • OHS and Work Cover claims
  • Disciplinary hearings and performance meetings
  • Superannuation
  • Negotiating pay and conditions
  • Consultation over major changes
  • Redundancy

Don’t wait until it is too late to join. As a not-for-profit association that relies on membership fees, we may not be able to provide assistance with major workplace issues if you are not a member. Please refer to our Membership Policy for more information.
