Member Assist Officer
Trish is a social worker and has worked in hospital, non-government, university, community and private sectors for over 18 years. She has also been a workplace delegate, having joined the union in 2002, and has worked on several key workplace issues that confronted the multi-disciplinary teams of health professionals she worked for at the time.
Trish also holds a Masters in Community Development and has been an advocate, researcher and published author in the area of reproductive justice and violence against women – her key areas of professional interest. This has included being involved as an activist in this area relating to law reform and other community campaigns to safeguard and advance women’s rights.
She also has previous work experience with unions having conducting outbound member and community-contact campaigns for the ACTU. She has a keen interest in the areas of women at work and particularly in relation to advancing the rights and protections at work for victim/survivors of family violence.
